Preserving 9000 years of American Indian History: three-dimensional models of Jeffers Petroglyphs
The Evolutionary Anthropology Lab at the University of Minnesota in collaboration with the Minnesota Historical Society began three-dimensional white light scanning of the Jeffers Petroglyphs in southwest Minnesota in the summer of 2011. I was involved in the project as a scanning technician, using a Breukmann smartScan3D scanner, as well as the GPS survey technician, using a Trimble 5700/5800 GPS unit, in August-November of 2011.
WCCO Coverage of the Jeffers Petroglyphs
In September 2011, channel 4 WCCO CBS Minnesota produced a news story on the Jeffers Petroglyphs, including the University of Minnesota's scanning efforts. I was interviewed by the WCCO team. To watch the clip, click here.
